"Return with us now......to those exciting days of yesteryear..."

My two favorite social events every year are our Thurmont Luncheon and the WQCB dinner. If you've never attended a Washington Quarter Century Broadcasters (hence the name) event you are missing a very enjoyable evening, usually held on the Saturday evening the same week as our WTOP extravagazca. They're looking for new people to attend so they've relaxed the rules a bit and are welcoming any and all old (or young) broadcasters and their friends.

It's a great opportunity to meet many of our old friendly competitors, as well as many young turks
currently playing in the Washington Broadcasting sandpile.

You never know who you will meet, or what surprises might be in store.

For example, one of WUSA-TV's outstanding performers, Dave Statter happened to bring along a 1946 AFRA directory, that was bought on eBay for $1.25 and given to him by Chris Ross.

Dave was kind enough to let me scan the book, and I will be sharing some of the pictures with you over the next few weeks.

I'll guarantee you're going to enjoy this!

Your are also going to be amazed.

And yes, WTOP had is OWN soap opera! I mean one that
was ON the air.

(Be sure to click on the picture of signatures. There are a few that were pretty famous. Kilroy being the most famous.)
