Tropical storm Ernesto blew into the Washington area this week, caused a lot of power outages, watered our lawns and left.
Meanwhile, our own Ernest C.(better known as Buddy) came home from serious surgery. Buddy was diagnosed several week ago with throat cancer and had to decide between Chemo therapy and surgery. He chose surgery.
Florence reports that he has maintained his positive attitude throughout the ordeal and with the challenge of learning to talk with mechanical help he continues to face down this issue.
I got a note from Royce Fish yesterday saying that Buddy had called him on the phone and Royce understood every word Buddy said! One thing he said was how much he was looking forward to seeing everybody at Thurmont this year.
Knowing Buddy as we all do, there is no doubt that he will continue to serve as an inspiration for the rest of us.
Welcome home, Buddy.
